Why we're here

The Christian Science Reading Room, Metropolitan Seattle is a joint effort of more than 20 churches in the Puget Sound area. It was established in 1966:

• To make Christian Science accessible to the downtown Seattle community.
• To provide a loving and uplifting haven for those seeking Truth and to study Christian Science.
• To be a source for literature published or sold by The Christian Science Publishing Society, particularly Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and her other writings.

The Christian Science Reading Room, Metropolitan Seattle serves people who live and work in downtown Seattle and throughout Western Washington. It's also an international crossroads, attracting people from all over the world who are looking for spiritual solutions.

In addition to reading the Weekly Bible Lesson, The Christian Science Monitor, and other Christian Science literature, the Reading Room invites you to:

• Make use of Concord, our computerized concordance to the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy.
• Use our Internet connection to view the web sites of The Mother Church and The Christian Science Monitor.
• Play an audio recording of our weekly Bible Lesson.
• Take your lunch break or a moment out of your busy work day to find inspiration and spiritual refreshment.

When we're open

The Christian Science Reading Room, Metropolitan Seattle is open five days a week (except for U.S. holidays). Our hours are:

• Monday - Friday 11:00am to 6:00pm
• Saturday and Sunday Closed

What we carry

The Reading Room offers a wide variety of literature on the Bible and Christian Science, published or sold by The Christian Science Publishing Society. Books include:

• The Bible (in the King James and other versions)
• Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy
• Other prose and poetic works by Mrs. Eddy
• Bible dictionaries, concordances and other study aids
• Biographies of Mrs. Eddy
• Children's literature relating to the Bible

Also available are the Christian Science periodicals:

• The Christian Science Monitor, an award-winning international daily newspaper
• The Christian Science Journal
• Christian Science Sentinel
• Christian Science Sentinel - Radio Edition
• The Herald of Christian Science in thirteen languages
• The Christian Science Quarterly Weekly Bible Lesson
• Weekly bible Lessons on CD or audio tape
